The Full Story
About
The song that I chose to display my different mix variations is Guarna - Nuvole. The reason I chose this song is because it has a mellow R&B style that I like. I also chose this song because of the different language it was being sang in. It is a song that I have grown to love and listen to on a regular basis now. The music, vocals, and mix actually compliment each other well and I knew that it would challenge my listening skills and my ability as a producer to recreate the sound from the original and make it just as good if not better.
Live Drums Variation
So the first variation that I chose to display was live instruments recorded with the original track. I recorded a new drum track putting my own feel to the song with what I was hearing in my head. I wanted to give it a new flavor with the intro and give the chorus of the song a stand out drum fill to take it into the next section of the song.
Sound Design Variation
The Second variation I chose was added sound design. I prepared this variation as if I were asked to create a video game using the song. I was able to use things around my home to create one shot sounds. I used the sounds to create multiple sounds to make a character seem as if he were walking into a power up stage to receive more energy.
Stem Variation
We were tasked to create different Stem Mixes and with this last variation I created Stem Mix #2. This stem consists of the bass and vocals being heard. The tracks that are muted are the bass, Piano, Synth, Acoustic guitar, drums, and percussion.
